Meet the Team at Sheffield Assay Office

Team Member – Joanne Shelley

Role with SAO – Progress Clerk

Joanne Shelley, affectionately known as Jo, is the Progress Clerk within our Hallmarking Receipts and Dispatch Department. Her role comprises of sorting and filing all paperwork used in the hallmarking process, ensuring customer requests are passed to the relevant departments, checking the progression of work and relaying this back to clients, helping with any questions or queries customers may have in reference to the hallmarking process and checking data input to ensure compliance.

She enjoys her role within the Assay Office immensely and is highly experienced in our processes and procedures thanks to her 12 years continuous service. Her favourite part of her job is helping our customers as much as possible by aiming to always go that extra mile.

Jo’s favourite quote is ‘Live Every Moment, Laugh Every Day, Love Beyond Words’ and enjoys getting the most out of life. She never holidays to the same destination twice and likes to combine holiday, adventure and family time having gone paragliding in Cornwall and bravely staying overnight in a small hut in a safari park in South Africa. Her ideal holiday destination would be a sunny, beach location surrounded by friends or family.

She likes to treat herself to a relaxing body massage and facial on her days off and enjoys the cinema, eating out and socialising with her loved ones in her spare time.
