On Thursday 16th July 2015 an evening of summer punch and canapés were enjoyed by over 80 guests at Sheffield Assay office. This unique summer punch party was held in aid of the Master Cutler's Challenge 2015 in support of Brathay Trust.

With the back drop of the Sheffield Assay Office's millennium punch bowl, twelve unique punch cups and the presence of the four designer makers; Chris Knight, Brett Payne, Alex Brogden and Keith Tyssen this was a real unique punch party.

The Chairman of the Sheffield Assay Office Mr Chris Heaton welcomed the distinguished guests, The Deputy Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Master and Mistress Cutler and thanked the Cutlers Company for the loan of an alternative punch bowl which could be used by the guests. The Master Cutler David Grey and Jenni Mcduff representing the Brathay Trust said a few words about the charity and how the money raised on the evening would assist young people. The Assay Master, Mr Ashley Carson introduced the designer makers who all gave their personal account on designing and making the millennium punch bowl.

Assay Master Mr Ashley Carson said “the evening had been a great success and all guests loved getting close up to the magnificent Millennium Punch Bowl. It was a great occasion with so many Sheffield Assay Office staff also giving their time to the event, and I am delighted that we managed to urn the Master Cutler’s £50 into £1,550 to donate back to his chosen charity Brathay Trust”.
