The Sheffield stand at the International Jewellery London event was opened by non-other than The Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Tony Downing and Lady Mayoress Mrs Val Downing. The Mayor and Mayoress travelled down to London to fly the flag for the City of Sheffield and our sincere thanks go to them for their enthusiasm and support.

The Lord Mayor cut the ribbon on the Sheffield spotlight stand, surrounded by members of the trade both UK and international he spoke highly of the metalworking traditions of Sheffield and the talent the City offers today in the silversmithing and jewellery trade.

The 2019 fair had many highlights; an opportunity for Sheffield Assay Office to show off some of its precious metal collection and showcase work by the Starter Studio Programme at Yorkshire Artspace but also provide the Leading Light Awards.

Ashley Carson, (Assay Master), Danny Smith, (Head of Hallmarking) and Jordan Carson attended the fair, providing them with an opportunity to network with our London and international customers. It is always nice to meet people and put names to faces.

IJL offers a great opportunity to network with existing and potential new customers and find out more about new designs, products, technological advancements and future marks applied to jewellery and silverware. Our sincere thanks go to the IJL team who delivered a fantastic show.
