Assay Office Production Manager Moves on to Pastures New
Published: 10th May 2024
After 25 years of service to the Sheffield Assay Office, our Production Manager, Danny Smith has now moved on to pursue new directions on the other side of the Pennines.
Having commuted to Sheffield for the past two years, from the home he share with his partner Rachel, in Hyde, Danny has now taken the opportunity to move to pastures new.
Danny commented that he had loved his time at Sheffield Assay Office and will miss all the team, but was also looking forward to his next challenge.
Assay Master, Ashley Carson, thanked Danny for all his hard work and dedication over the past 25 years and wished him well in his next role.
The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
