Bringing retired Silversmiths at the annual Mary Parsons Charity Service

The annual Mary Parsons Charity Service took place on the 27th December 2019 at The Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul, Sheffield, with the service being taken by the Dean, The Reverend Peter Bradley.

The service was well attended by beneficiaries of the charity and guests, following which everyone enjoyed refreshments, and the opportunity to talk about silversmithing in the city; past, present and future.

The Sheffield Assay Office now administers this unique charity for retired silversmiths’ of the city and Assay Master, Ashley Carson who has been the Chairman of the Mary Parsons Charity commented:

"Over the years we have had a strong desire to keep this worthwhile charity going. It now relies on donations and support from the Sheffield Assay Office and the trade. The service is a great occasion to bring the silversmiths’ of the City of Sheffield together to give thanks for their skills and craftsmanship.”

For anyone wishing to make a donation, cheques should be made payable to 'Mary Parsons Charity' and sent to:
