Celebrating with Dave Beresford on his 40th Anniversary

An amazing 40 year anniversary was celebrated this week, when managers and staff gathered to congratulate Senior Laboratory Technician, Dave Beresford.

Assay Master, Ashley Carson said "Dave Beresford, my senior laboratory technician celebrated his 40th Anniversary today. He started work at the Assay Office on 22nd July, 1985 and is the third longest serving member of staff. He worked in the previous Assay Office on Portobello Street, Sheffield and was appointed by David Johnson the previous Assay Master.

Dave has been a role model member of staff, he is an extremely competent member of the technical team, specialising in ICP-OES and ICP-MS and is able to dissolve the most complex of alloys.

He is also a keen cyclist and covers many miles a week both in the UK and Europe."

The Assay Master, managers were delighted to throw a surprise breakfast for Dave, with all his colleagues in Analytical Services attending to celebrate the occasion.

Dave said “I have loved every minute of working for the Sheffield Assay Office and it is such a unique business to work for, I would have dressed for the occasion, but this has been a total surprise!”
