Office Closed on Monday 19th September 2022

As a mark of our deepest respect after the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on the day of her state funeral, Monday 19th September 2022, Sheffield Assay Office will remain closed.
All services will resume as normal on Tuesday 20th September 2022, which marks the end of the period of national mourning.

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium.
