Sending Congratulations to Her Majesty The Queen as She Celebrates Platinum Jubilee

To celebrate the milestone event that was The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the Sheffield Assay Office team sent Her Majesty a gift to mark the occasion, accompanied by a letter form the Assay Master, Ashley Carson.
"On behalf of myself and the staff at Sheffield Assay Office we wanted to wish you many congratulations as you celebrate your Platinum Jubilee Anniversary. It is with great pleasure that the Sheffield Assay Office have been able to hallmark many commemorative articles of precious metal with the Platinum Jubilee Hallmark from the 1st January 2022 and will continue to do so until the end of the year.
The Sheffield Assay Office have been promoting the Platinum Jubilee Hallmark and wanted to present you with a small gift to mark the occasion. We believe you won’t have one of these in your collection, something truly unique and quite different. The Sheffield Assay Office sent Her Majesty a Rebecca Joselyn sardine sauce pot made in Sterling silver with an 18-carat guild interior and hallmarked with the commemorative Platinum Jubilee Hallmark."
The Assay Master went onto say that "we commissioned Rebecca to produce two sardine sauce pots, one to gift to yourself and the other to add to the Sheffield Assay Office collection as a reminder of this special occasion."
Rebecca draws inspiration from our hectic lifestyles of convenience and looks at the materials we take for granted and discard from day to day. Her tableware questions how using different materials can change our views on objects and their acceptance within society. Rebecca’s piece will not only adorn the Queen’s residence but the Sheffield Assay Office, as it joins the collection and will form a long line of commemorative hallmarked pieces including the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II from 1953, her Silver Jubilee in 1977, Golden Jubilee in 2002 and Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
May we take this opportunity to wish Her Majesty many congratulations on her Platinum Jubilee and remind customers that Sheffield Assay Office will continue to hallmark the commemorative Platinum Jubilee hallmark until the end of 2022.
On the 10th June, Sheffield Assay Office were delighted to receive a letter from Susan Rhodes Her Majesty’s Lady in waiting on behalf of the Queen, thanking the Assay Master and staff for the kind message and gift.
She said "The Queen was touched by the present and is most grateful for your thoughtless in writing at this time."
