Sheffield Assay Office Assists in Channel 5 Documentary

Sheffield Assay Master, Ashley Carson and Curator, Emma Paragreen were delighted to assist in the making of a Channel 5 documentary and BBC drama, both about the infamous Brink's-Mat robbery that took place in 1983.

Our Assay Master and CEO, Mr Carson was working here at Sheffield Assay Office when the robbery took place. He was happy to be interviewed for the new documentary and spoke to Channel 5 about how the heist shook the whole of the jewellery industry.

You can find out more in this article from the Daily Mail.

As we come up on 40 years since the robbery took place, the BBC have also created a new drama detailing the heist. Titled 'The Gold', our Archivist, Curator and Librarian, Emma Paragreen was delighted to help the BBC with their lengthy research process before the TV show hit our screens.
