The Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Competition 2023/24

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC) are delighted to announce the launch of the 2023/24 Goldsmiths’ competition for all those engaged in jewellery, silversmithing, smallwork & the allied trades.

This year's competition is packed with plenty of exciting opportunities to engage in and enjoy, including a wealth of Patron awards that include some unique work experience placements for winning entrants. The team here at Sheffield Assay Office are delighted to be sponsoring this year's 2D Hand Rendering Award in celebration of our 250th anniversary.

With 33 dedicated competition sections, 2 amazing bursaries, 5 Special Awards and 6 Major & Premier Awards, this year's competition holds many wonderful opportunities. Be assured that there is something for everyone to get involved with in these fabulous and ever-valuable awards.

Please see below for an overview of how to navigate the competition and the key dates:

  • Nov 2023 - Entry form opens
  • 15 Jan 2024 - Entry deadline (Online)
  • 18 - 20 Jan 2024 - Entry submission days @ The Goldsmiths' Centre
  • 04 Mar 2024 - Award Ceremony @ The Goldsmiths' Hall
  • 05 - 08 Mar 2024 - Awards exhibition @ The Goldsmiths' Hall

The 2023/24 Competition has 2 main categories:

  • 2D design presentation;
  • 3D finished work

A key requirement for entries is that your work must have been completed between Jan 2023 – Jan 2024, and designed and/or made in the UK. You can be at any stage in your career, including a student, working professional or hobbyist.
