Diamond Verification Services (DVS) – the trading name for Sheffield Supplies Limited (a Sheffield Assay Office company) – offers a set diamond service: a diamond jewellery testing service designed to verify that all diamonds within your jewellery are natural.
As the number of lab-grown diamonds in the market continues to soar, we recognised an urgent need for retailers, and consumers alike, to have access to a fully independent, specialist service that can accurately identify the presence of natural or lab-grown/synthetic diamonds. Our process is also fully RJC/BSI/ISO accredited.

Using industry-leading technology, our highly skilled technicians can verify natural diamonds in a jewellery piece.
One of the many technologies we have secured is the SynthDetect machine, developed by the world's leading diamond company, DeBeers Group. Being such a large force within the diamond arena, DeBeers initially designed this instrument to enhance pipeline integrity and in turn consumer confidence throughout the diamond industry.
The set diamond service can screen set diamonds in the size range of 0.001ct and above, in the colourless to near colourless colour range, and in all shapes.
All simple jewellery designs such as rings, brooches, bracelets, pendants, necklaces and earrings are accepted for verification.
The Conditions for the Provision of Diamond Services govern the provision of these services by DVS.
