The team at Sheffield Assay Office have had a busy month, attending prestigious events such as 'At Home with Silver' at the Marchmont Estate and the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Awards exhibition at Birmingham Assay Office.

Artist, Yuen Fongling and Designer, Jon Cannon visited Sheffield Assay Offfice recently to undertake research in our library and archives.

Sheffield Assay Office have been proud supporters of the Starter Studio Programme at Yorkshire Artspace for the last 20 years. We were delighted to meet with the Yorkshire Artspace team to discuss their newly refurbished workshop 'Silver Space'.

Assay Master, Ashley Carson was delighted to attend this year's National Market Traders Federation Conference to speak to the attendees about 700 years of hallmarking history.

Back in January 2023, a commemorative hallmark was approved to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. This special mark is now available here at Sheffield Assay Office and we are delighted to see many of our registered customers jumping at the chance to utilise this time-limited mark.

Sheffield Assay Office have supported students at Sheffield Hallam University for 30 years and this year is no exception as we celebrate our 250th anniversary!

The Assay Assured Trustmark scheme is to re-launch today (Wednesday March 1st) with the support of all 4 UK Assay offices for the first time, with the relaunch including a brand-new Trustmark design featuring a crown in place of a castle, allowing for a unique certification number for each jeweller and will incorporate new options for multi-channel retailers.
