This year, Sheffield Assay Office were unable to present prizes to the students of Sheffield Hallam University for their work in Jewellery, Materials and Design. However, we are delighted that SHU have created a dedicated platform to display the graduating student’s excellent work.

Sheffield Assay Office, who administer The Mary Parsons Charity for the silversmiths of Sheffield, were asked to take part in Sheffield cathedral's Christmas Tree Festival and have decorated a tree beneath the Mary and John Parsons memorial plaque.

On October 16th, the Annual General Meeting of the Guardians of the Standard of Wrought Plate within the Town of Sheffield was held by Zoom. For an event such as this, the Chairman, Law Clerk and Assay Master wear their badges of office - special items that form part of the Sheffield Assay Office collection but are rarely seen close up.
