David joined Sheffield Assay Office in 1985 in the laboratory, starting in gold cupellation before moving to wet chemistry and instrumentation. David has been responsible for playing his part in the laboratory development, moving from manually operated Atomic Absorption instruments to ICP and ICP MS. Outside of work, David is a regular cyclist and always looks forward to a club ride with Norton Wheelers in the Peak District. He also loves travelling abroad, Belgium and Spain being his favourite destinations.
